Maintenance Release for Toolset Plugins

   Amir

January 8, 2018

We just published small updates for all of Toolset plugins, to improve compatibility and stability.

This update doesn’t pack new features, but includes improvements and fixes to issues that were accumulated over the last few weeks. We held the release until after the holidays, so your sites don’t need attention while you’re away.

Our focus during January remains on the post-relationship project. We’re making cosmetic improvements to Types and Views and preparing CRED for a first release.

We’re also completing the integration between Toolset with WPML’s new “Display as Translated” mode, which will allow you to conveniently run multilingual sites with post relationship.

Questions? Suggestions? Ideas? Leave your comments and we’ll get back to you.

    • Some. Tom gave us a bit of info to work on, but I’m not sure how interested he actually is in this integration. If you need a specific GP addon integrated with Toolset, Tom is the go-to person. Without his interest, it cannot happen. We’re responding within hours to anything that comes from theme authors.

  1. Thank you for the update Amir. Looking forward to that CRED integration!!

I have a quick, somewhat off-topic question… you guys have a great and ever-evolving Toolset Documentation section on this site. Is there a way we can get notified via email or subscribe somehow when something has been added or updated?

This past year I keep discovering new sections and changes and had no idea a section was updated. I rely on these docs heavily.

I’m not sure who is currently handling the documentation for Toolset… if it’s Dario, Agnes, Marine… or many people? Whoever is doing it is doing a great job, I’d just like to be aware of updates to it somehow. Food for thought.

    Thanks again!
    Jay

    • Dario is in charge of our documentation (both WPML and Toolset). As it’s a fairly large project, Dario gets help from others. We use a proofreading service called Editage (https://www.editage.com/). Before using it, our documentation had way too many English problems and style inconsistencies. Now, even when we’re writing complete nonsense, it comes our in excellent English 🙂

Marine is in charge of our relationships with partners. This also includes both WPML and Toolset compatibility, so we’re talking about hundreds of theme and plugin developer partners.

I’ll pass your comment to both of them, as I’m sure they will be happy to read it.

  2. Looks like the CRED refresh error hasn’t been solved in this release?
When deleting a post on the front-end using the CRED links… the link keeps displaying “Deleting… ” and won’t refresh!

    • Hi Herre

Yes, this issue will get solved in th next iteration for CRED. We had a preliminary fix by the time the new version went out, but we need to pass all our changes over a sries of checks and tests, and we could not cmplete all the steps in time.

However, as far as I know there is a workaround.

The issue is caused when the CRED delete post link is set to redirect to a specific post after doing its action. The problem is that the GUI to insert that delete post link shortcode is not including a mandatory attribute for it to hapen: just add class=”cred-refresh-after-delete” to the cred_delete_post_link shortcode and you should be good to go.

Our fix will make sure all new delete post link shortcodes that aim to redirect include that attribute, but it will not fix shorcodes already added. I other words: if you have a delete post link shortcode with this problem, the best, fast and single solution is to add that attribute yourself.

      Hope it helps.

      Regards.

      • Hello Juan,
Thank you for your reply… I’ve tested it and this works. Thank you!

        Best regards,
        Herre
