Hello,

Even after reading the documentation, I'm still having trouble understanding what the options of "publicly_queryable" and "query_var" do for the custom types and what "query_var" does for the custom taxonomies. Also, I am not sure whether these Advanced options should be checked or not.

Can anyone help me to understand these settings?

Thanks!

Dear Joshua,

When a custom post type is made public it means is intended to be used publicly either via the admin interface or by front-end users.
And query_var, you wont normally see it, depending on your permalink settings. But its the part of the url that identifies the custom post type or taxonomy:
hidden link   <-- type is the query_var

Please let me know if there is anything else that I can assist you with.

Regards.
Caridad
