I am trying to: Understand the Toolset Plugin Workflow.

I have recently purchased Toolset and find all the Training info dis-jointed and confusing. Where do I start? What is the workflow? The WordPress Toolset menu is also confusing and looks kinda random re: workflow...

I understand that I need to:
1) Create Custom Post Types then
2) I add Custom Post Fields, for the custom post type
3) Then what? Content Templates? Post Forms? Views? Custom Layouts (which takeover WordPress pages)?

Can someone please explain How I insert/display/edit Custom Post info/Fields/Templates/Views on a normal WordPress page?
What is the difference between a Content Template, A view, A Form, and a Layout?

Is there is simple instruction set detailing the workflow because I am finding what is currently available confusing.

Can someone please point me to a comprehensive tutorial where I can start to understand the Toolset workflow better/easier?

BTW: The Toolset training site never seems to let me login.

Thanks.

I understand that Toolset is a bit difficult at the first look.
It's a learning curve, that we are happy to help you with.

1. Can someone please explain How I insert/display/edit Custom Post info/Fields/Templates/Views on a normal WordPress page?

- If you want to customise the native WordPress Post Type "Page", you do not need to create a new Post Type.
- Add Custom Fields under Toolset > Post Fields
- In the section "Where to include this Field Group" choose only the post type "page"
- Now head to any Page > Edit and populate those Fields
- Then, in the Page's post Body (TinyMCE Text Editor) insert those Fields using the GUI "Fields and Views". You will find all Fields you just created and will be able to insert them as ShortCodes.
- If you now load the page on the front end you will see those Field's values output.

- If you do not want to edit each and every Post Body of the page to insert the Fields, you use Content Templates.
- Head to Toolset > Content Templates, and create a new one
- Style your entire Post body here. Insert Fields, HTML and what you need to be displayed as Post Body.
- Then apply this Content Template to your Pages.
- This will now overwrite whatever you have in the Pages Post Body. Every ShortCode in the Content Template will render exactly what you added to each single Page.

- Views are lists of Posts, users or taxonomies.
- Head to Toolset > Views and add a new View
- Query Posts, as example, and style the Loop (what you want to output)
- Insert this View anywhere on your Website and you will see a List of Posts, exactly the way you coded it in the Views Loop editor.

2. What is the difference between a Content Template, A view, A Form, and a Layout?

- Content Templates style single Posts Body
- Views create whole lists of Posts
- Layouts are templates, you style everything with this. From the Header to the Footer.
- CRED Forms, are front end forms that let you either create or edit Posts from the front end

I am new to toolset too and wondering if there is a demo content or module that I can import and take a look to see how toolset is configured?

It will help a lot if there is a demo import available.
