How can I set up a sidebar widget to filter my view based on my Taxonomy?
Started by: tomH-11
in: Toolset Professional Support
Problem: Solution: To use this Widget you need a Post View where you create your parametric Search Filter and add a Submit Button. This View is the one that you will chose in the WP Views Filter Widget. All this process is elaborated in detail here: You can also use Layouts to create a more customized version of your Sidebars and pages. Then you follow this instructions to add the View Filter and layout correctly: |

How can I delete child posts when the parent is deleted?
Started by: tomH-11
in: Types Community Support
Problem: The question being asked here by the customer is how to delete the child posts once the parent is deleted as well. Solution: This is not possible without some form of custom coding. The reason is that even though the posts are related they are essentially separate post types and are related through the use of a hidden relationship custom field created by types so a cascading delete of the orphans is not possible. I see how this can be possible with the use of some hook to perform but this is something out of the scope of our support forum because it requires custom code that is not readily available with our plugin even through the use of our API. What I recommend that you do is to contact one of our certified partners to get this done for you. |

Need better documentation on importing child fields
Started by: tomH-11
in: Toolset Professional Support
Problem: Solution: _wpcf_belongs_parent-post-slug_id is the field holding the ID of the parent post. That means, there you will add the ID pf the parent post you wish to be connected to the imported Child Post. Relevant Documentation: |

Can I present lists of Types grouped & separated by Month portion of date field

Problem: [heading condition="year" value="[wpv-post-date format="Y"]"] <h4>[wpv-post-date format="Y"]</h4> [/heading] [heading condition="month" value="[wpv-post-date format="F"]"] <h5>[wpv-post-date format="F"]</h5> [/heading] 3. insert in your theme functions.php file the following code: add_shortcode('heading', 'my_heading'); function my_heading($atts, $content = '') { static $year = null; static $month = null; $condition = $atts['condition']; $value = $atts['value']; switch ($condition) { case 'year': case 'month': if ($$condition != $value) { $$condition = $value; return $content; } break; } return ''; } Relevant Documentation: |
