Theme settings support

Layouts 2.1, along with Views 2.5, provides support for theme options that can be controlled from Content Templates and WordPress Archives. This means you can control theme options per-template you create, so different content types can feature different options.

You can find the Theme Options section at the bottom of the Layouts editor, when editing layouts used for templates and archives.

For this first release, Views supports the following themes:

These settings are kept when you switch themes. If you change your mind and return back to a theme that defined options for a Content Template or a WordPress Archive, all your existing settings will be restored and applied.

– Fixed a problem with a z-index rule for tag selector inside tinyMCE editor on Layouts editor page.
– Removed Front-End Editor button when previewing a layout.
– Fixed a problem with assigning Layouts to wrong content after import when it is explicitly set “Don’t use layout”.
– Fixed an issue with WPV conditional shortcodes when used with the Post Body shortcode on WooCommerce product page.
– Fixed an issue with single Text Widget that was not showing options after updating WordPress to the latest version.
– Fixed an issue with Media Widgets new GUI in the Widget cell.
– Fixed a problem with assigning Layout to 404 pages for non-integrated themes
– Fixed a problem with active tabs panels when nested tabs structure is created.
– Fixed a problem with a z-index rule and the HTML Style selector in Layouts Visual Editor cell.
– Fixed a console error logged when trying to create a Content Layout.
– Solved a problem with PHP warning for Layouts assignment dialog when using PHP7.
– Fixed a usability issue and the Layout preview is triggered only with the left mouse click on the preview button.
– Fixed an issue with wpautop (WordPress auto-paragraphs feature) and paragraphs rendering for Visual Editor cell
– Made sure Layouts custom CSS file is enqueued as the last style in the head of the document.
– Security improvement: Prevent script tag to be used inside comments text area in a Comments cell.
– Security improvement: Prevent script tag to be used inside Layouts custom CSS editor.


Download and Update

You can get this release directly to the WordPress admin or download and install manually. To receive automatic updates, you need to register the Toolset plugins on your site. Then, visit the Plugins or Updates admin pages. To download manually, visit your Toolset Account and go to Downloads. Follow the installation and upgrade instructions for complete details.

When you update the Toolset plugins, be sure to update together all the components that you are using. Don’t use a mixture of new and older versions.
